Some of the status messages that I saw today :
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.” - Aristotle
Take today to do something your heart has always dreamed of.
L'absence est à l'amour ce qu'est au feu le vent; - Il éteint le petit, il allume le grand. : Translated (thanks to Google Translator) : Absence is to love what wind to fire; - It extinguishes the small, it illuminates the general.
Some of the most profound thoughts over the time were spoken in simple words, but deliver a meaning that resonates through eternity. :)
These do seem timeless.
Such profound statements come from different sources. From great Philosophers, revolutionaries, authors, religious texts...
They sometimes give us the mood of the era (viva la revolucion)
Sometimes they just tell us simple truths. Still they always seem to enlighten us.
Conquers conquer the world until some one more powerful comes along and beats them. It has always been the way of the world. But the thoughts of great people, always are remembered across generations, across boundaries, across nations.
They cannot be defeated, they can only be erased. From thought and from books.
As long as either one exists, the idea will continue to exist.
As long as either one exists, the other is just a step away.
The sword might have ruled the world, but it was always broken by another. The sword might have caused revolution, destruction. But its work was always undone by time.
The pen created the world. It continues to affect the world.. evolve it. Time only helps it along, spread the word, bring more into the fold.
Certainly one has to agree... the pen is mightier than the sword :)

Lady of the house
Some of the roles that the lady of the house takes over...
A daughter.
A playmate
A sister
A niece
A friend
A confident
A bread-earner.
An Aunt
A wife
A daughter-in-law
A mother
A teacher
A mother-in-law
A grandmother
and so on...
and in each role of hers... she has a responsibility to make every person dependent on her happy..
she has the responsibility to take care and do everything expected of her as well as she can, sometimes sacrificing all she has ever worked for, so that she steps up to the expectations of her family, of her friends, of her husband, parents in law and society in general.
And we call them the weaker sex?
Thats something to consider....

Movie Review .. Agneepat
Today I wish to blog about a movie I saw... the movie: AgneePath.
First the main questions... does it do justice to the original script? Does it change the story? Is it better than the original or just another remake destined to be lost in to time..?
Simple answers according to me.. yes to an extent (Read on for more)
Only slightly.... and no, but ain’t that bad either.
The movie itself starts of decently. The kid acting as the young Vijay Deenanath Chauhan (VDC) has done more justice to the role than Hrithik does. Danny doesn’t hold a candle to Sanjay Dutt's portrayal a larger than life villain, Piggy Chops is an unwanted role in the movie and will be forgotten... Rishi Kapoor does justice to his role as well...
The movie, like the original starts off pretty much along the same lines with VDC leaving Mundva with his pregnant mom. He joins ranks of Rishi Kapoor. When he grows up, VDC back stabs his boss to get back to Mundhava. If the story had stuck to its main theme.. aka Vengeance, this would have been better... but the director seems to have a different person in the second half... What was a fast moving story in the first half, becomes a melodrama in the second. I for one was happy when Poggy Chops got chopped. :)
While the villain Kancha, keeps referring to himself as Ravan, and to VDC as Raam... it would seem Raam is the one with 10 heads and million extra life’s to spare... for he cannot be killed! Sanjay steals the show with his acting.. the dialogues he has to deliver half the time is below par... But he seems to deliver them so well that you will at times feel a chill..
All in all, could have been better than it currently is if the director hadn’t lost his hat. It almost seems like Karan J has shot the second half with the ghost of Bazzigar ending making a comeback in this one...

Prayer
I ain't religious, but I like the idea of a god.
I dislike religion because it holds you by 2 basic ideas...
a. Faith, ie Don't think or question what ever is being told to you... accept it as the law.
b. Fear... If you don't accept it as the law, then you shall face the consequences for eternity!
That, to me sounds more like a challenge and I cant get myself to fall for it. So I, like almost everyone out there, have developed my own version of an almighty.
Without going into any more details, (ya ya, thank god for that :)) I wish to share that which I would ask of him...
Ohh god, of you I only pray for this...
Where there is strife, let there be peace...
where there is peace, let there be smile
where there is smile, let there be joy
Where there is joy, let there be love
Where there is love, let there be harmony
and where there is harmony, let there be life...
for what better way to show my faith in you, than to celebrate your greatest gift.. :)

Essetial Existence
I had a prior Blog, its name was "An Uneventful Existence"
It didn’t get many posts.. I didn’t have anything to post about... As the name suggested, the existence was uneventful.
That was a couple of years ago and my life has taken a few turns since then.
Some of them pretty big. So my existence is no more uneventful. Hence the new name..
Essential Existence. I am trying to juggle the different aspects of life.. the ones I want, the ones I need and the ones I wish I could do...
To begin with, I have found my muse. She is now my wife. (That part of my existence is the one I want)
I am trying to get my job moving to better heights. Trouble is its in a different city, so it leaves little time for my family... that is the part I need.
Then there are the other hobbies... reading, writing, playing.. simple time wasting techniques... All that I wish I could do. These are the ones that are currently taking a back seat.
Some one told me, life is what happens when u have other plans. That is such a depressing thought. And I don’t agree with it (big surprise here)
Life is not what happens when you have other plans, it is that which happens when you wish for something wonderful. Everything else is just a speed breaker.
Get over it till the next turn...
